Our Story Behind
Rani's Homestay
Rani’s Homestay is a family-run business located in the beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh, India. Our story begins in 1971, when our mother Rani Devi, along with her family, fled to India during the Bangladesh war and took refuge in a camp in Assam. It was there that she met and fell in love with an Army man, who later became her husband. The couple later moved to Himachal, where Rani joined the Himachal Tourism Development Corporation as a utility worker. She served there until her sixties, during which time she met many guests from India and abroad and made them her good friends.
Rani always dreamed of starting her own Homestay, where she could serve her guests in her own way. In 2008, she used a bank loan to turn her personal residence into Rani’s Homestay. Today, Rani’s Homestay is run by Rani’s daughter-in-law, Sonia, and her family. We are dedicated to providing our guests with a warm, welcoming and authentic experience of Himachali hospitality.
Our homestay features traditional Himachali architecture and décor, and we offer a range of comfortable and well-appointed guest rooms. We also serve delicious traditional Himachali delicacies, prepared with organic and locally sourced ingredients.
